Something other than Brady :)

So we haven't posted much about anything except Brady for a little while, so I figured I would give an update on the garden.

This year we planted pretty much the same things we normally did:

1 - cherry tomato plant + 1 "volunteer" grape tomato from last year :)

1 - Wisconsin 55 tomato

3 - Early Girl tomato

2 - Better Boy tomato

2 - Pimento pepper plants

2 - Banana peppers

2 - Jalepeno pepers

3 - Cucumbers

Some lettuce, carrots, and radishes

All in all, it has been a pretty good year with the cooler weather and more rain, the plants have all looked really good. We have gotten more cucumbers than I think we ever have (probably 15 or so) and the tomato plants are loaded. About 2 weeks ago, we got the first ripe ones, and then this week we have been loaded.

Shawnna canned a couple of jars of tomato with this batch, but we should have having at least this much in another week.

And because, I think some people only come to this blog for Brady updates.... banana peppers make pretty good chew toys.

For A Change of Pace

After Brady was born the content of the blog has changed a bit. Maybe the blog needs a new name...maybe "Life with Brady" : ) Our intention wasn't for the blog to turn into everything baby and parenting, but life with Brady is the most exciting thing going on in our lives. However, I did seem something in the yard on Tuesday that made me very very happy

The first bloom of the year!! It's a crocus! I planted a bunch of them last fall and am so excited to see this one!! Unfortunately, this is the only one that has sprouted and bloomed. I think I may have planted the others too deep....

The butterfly garden in the back yard is starting to show signs of life also. Spring time makes me happy : )
