So, do you ever get to the end of the week and think... what happened this week? I really should write notes to myself (like the post-it notes that I use at work) so that I can write stuff on our blog.
Finally got back to running this week after being out for 5 weeks with a heel injury, and my body definitely let me know about it. And my times for our typical 3.6 mile run at lunch showed it. I've got some work ahead of me before I run the Mini-Marathon in May. I hadn't really thought about it, but I will have to be running at least a little bit while we are in Hawaii because it is right in the middle of the home stretch of training.
While I am writing this, Shawnna is informing me that she did not have a boring week. She had a great week teaching at one of her favorite schools, working out and doing a little tanning (so she doesn't burn in Hawaii).
Ok, so I guess it wasn't that boring of a week after all.
Shawnna here--my week was VERY FULL! I taught at a school that I enjoy, the kids were great! I had some thoughtful questions, nothing funny enough to share though.
I worked out at the Y 3 times...I don't feel nearly as guilty watching Dr. Phil if I do so while I'm on an elliptical machine.
I tanned twice. I firmly believe I am one of those people who get depressed when there isn't enough sunshine, because after my tanning sessions I felt WONDERFUL! For those of you who are thinking "What is she doing in a tanning bed, doesn't she know they give you cancer??" I have permission. So There. No, really, I do. I got to enjoy sun poisoning on our honeymoon. Didn't think much of it. But when I got it again the following summer, I went to the doctor. She believes that because of my sensitive skin, I'm also sensitive to the sun. Because I do wear sunscreen and it still happens, she recommended that I do a little tanning before being outside alot.
My dad was in the hospital this week. He passed out at home Wednesday night, was having chest pains and trouble breathing. I truly thought he was having a heart attack. I drove over to see him Thursday. We found out he has a severe sinus infection, an ulcer and is under too much stress. Praising God it's not his heart!!! I just started speaking to him again about 3 years ago...all I could think about and pray was that we were finally getting to know each other as adults, I didn't want to lose him now.
And to end the week, Lance got outside Friday afternoon and managed to get up on the roof. I had to take a screen out of one of the windows upstairs to get him back inside. I wish I had taken a picture!!
I suppose it depends on your point of view, but No, it wasn't a boring week after all.

ok Shawnna, I have got to tell you that the moment that you and your dad had before you left may just have changed his life! He knows exactly where is stands with you now, and I think he just needed to hear it from the horses mouth. Thank you! I say that because this family is my life! To see it in harmony is a God thing! You deserve to know how much you mean to him....who am I kidding?? to US! You are the sunshine! I know he is so proud of you Belle. He lights up in the face when he tells people what you do!! You are making a difference to these kids! I love you!! Dan?...I'm sorry your week was boring hun! Maybe you can take a lesson from Lance and climb on the roof?? Wonder if Shawnna can get you in through a open window?? LOL Love you guys!
so Lance and Mason should get together and have some kitty climbing contests. They would have fun.
and work is just kinda mundane.
(not nearly as touching a comment as your mom's)
